The Spanish and Portuguese Football Federations have joined forces to present a joint bid to hold the 2018 World Cup.
Gilberto Madail, head of the Portuguese Football Federation, and Angel Marma Villar, his Spanish counterpart, have until February 2 to present their candidature to FIFA.
It is understood that a single committee will be chosen to represent both countries and should the bid not be successful in 2018, a repeat presentation for the 2022 World Cup will be considered.
