JAPANESE CAR manufacturer Honda is the first to start the commercial production of a zero-emission, hydrogen fuel-cell powered vehicle.
The new vehicle called the FCX Clarity, which Honda claims is three times more efficient than traditional petrol powered cars runs on hydrogen and electricity, emitting only water vapour.
Initially, only 200 cars are planned, which will be leased in California, and then in Japan because of the availability of hydrogen fuelling stations.
Honda has announced that US actress Jamie Lee Curtis will be among the first to take delivery of the vehicle.
