Terras do Infante – an association comprising the municipalities of Aljezur, Lagos and Vila do Bispo – has signed deals with seven local hunting associations and clubs granting them the responsibility of clearing around 400 hectares of land in the three boroughs.
The partnership will aim to prevent forest fires or at least keep them from spreading.
As the association explains, hunters have a “very specific knowledge of these territories”.
