Hundreds turn out in Lisbon for march against racism

On the day authorities were concerned about a far-right march against the Islamisation of Portugal, hundreds of people ended up turning out in force against racism and xenophobia. The event filled the Largo do Intendente – the location originally chosen by Grupo 1143 to hold its protest against the surge in the number of immigrants in recent years, but which it was prohibited from holding.
