TAP pilots in Lisbon recently, saying they simply cannot take any more management abuse and injustice

Hundreds of TAP workers march in silent protest in Lisbon

Hundreds of  TAP workers – including pilots, cabin crew and maintenance technicians – have been demonstrating in Lisbon today in yet another bid to force the ministry of Infrastructure to open its eyes to perceived management failings. Those behind the protest, called by the National Union of Civil Aviation Flight Personnel (SNPVAC), the Union of Civil Aviation Pilots (SPAC) and the Union of Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (SITEMA) stress they want TAP to become ‘what it deserves to be’, not a burden for taxpayers – which they believe is what it is. The description of TAP’s management as “disastrous” was repeated throughout today’s protest. TAP has responded that it repudiates the “constant attempts (by syndicates) to attack its credibility and competence” – two characteristics that many who have flown recently with TAP may find hard to recognise.
