Portuguese businessman and self-styled inventor Rui Pedro Oliveira learnt last week that Chinese tech giant Huawei is taking him to court over claims that the company stole his patent for a smartphone camera (click here).
Público suggests the move follows apparent attempts by Huawei at ‘negotiation’.
Oliveira submitted a sum he thought fair for all the agony and expenses incurred over the last few years, but the company opted to file a claim against him.
The Porto businessman has told Público that aside from approaching four banks now to support his legal expenses, he will be “formally presenting” his case to the President of the Republic and the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
He claims to have gone from someone who has been “robbed” to someone who has been “betrayed and accused”.
