The Nobu Hotels group, run by chef Nobu Matsuhisa, actor Robert De Niro and film producer Meir Teper, has announced the opening of its first hotel in Portugal, to be located in Lisbon’s central Avenida da Liberdade.
Says a text on the company’s website: “The first Nobu Hotel and Restaurant in Portugal will be located in the heart of Lisbon, on the famous Avenida da Liberdade.
“This prestigious address, known for its luxury boutiques and distinctive 19th century architecture, offers discerning travellers direct access to the city’s luxury retail, five-star restaurants and important cultural landmarks”.
In the short note, which does not indicate the investment involved, nor the opening date, the group highlights that “the Baixa area, the trendy Chiado neighbourhood and the famous São Jorge Castle are only a short walk away, making this location the perfect base for exploring all that the city has to offer.”
