Portugal’s hoteliers association AHP has spoken out against the “unacceptable delay” in authorisation of the AstraZeneca Covid jab manufactured in India.
Roughly 5,000 Brits received the jab (unaware at the time that it was not recognised by the European Medicines Authority).
As a result those Brits – and millions of other fully-vaccinated potential tourists – have been barred from automatic entry into Portugal – while other countries have dispensed with the lack of EMA approval, and, in AHP’s view, are reaping the financial benefits.
DGS health chiefs intimated weeks ago that approval of the Indian ‘Covishield’ jab was imminent (click here), but since that time nothing appears to have moved forwards.
