Pedro Bernardo, head of reception of the Sheraton Algarve Hotel in Albufeira, took part in a three-day charity cycling event across the Pyrenees with 17 other members of staff from the Starwood Hotels and Resorts from across the world, last month.
The team which undertook the 360km cycling marathon raised a total of 115,000 US dollars (79,000 euros) for UNICEF’s Road to Awareness campaign.
This campaign helps to support more than 2,000 children who live on the streets of Cairo in Egypt, by providing them with social, medical and psychological care as well as protecting them from exploitation and violence.
