On Thursday, October 17, Hotel Faro celebrated the presentation of its new bar and restaurant menus. With nearly 200 guests in attendance, the event took place on the rooftop of Hotel Faro at the Restaurante Ria Formosa and Cosmopolitan Rooftop Bar.
The festivities began just outside of the hotel’s front doors, where a costumed dancer and DJ welcomed guests and entertained passersby through upbeat music and a colourful lightshow. Guests were then greeted in the hotel lobby with a welcome drink and light snacks from the Gin Bar prior to heading upstairs for the main event of the rooftop party. The official launch of the new dishes and cocktails were enjoyed alongside a live musical performance and dancing by guests and the hotel’s staff.
Restaurant Ria Formosa’s new menu features flavours created with upcoming cooler seasons in mind, with dishes such as scarlet shrimps velouté with a “bonbon” made from the flesh and flavoured with Pernod; grouper and tiger prawns on a hotplate; suckling pig confit with aioli potato, grilled lettuce heart, orange custard and pepper sauce; “Banoffee” banana toffee crumble, and more.
The Cosmopolitan Rooftop Bar’s new bar menu was inspired by “World Festivities”. During the event, bartenders paraded in cultural-themed costumes, dressed accordingly depending on the drink they were serving. New drink options include the “Brazilian Carnival” cocktail, the “Super Bowl” cocktail, the “Chinese New Year” cocktail, and more.
In addition to the new culinary creations, the event launched the second edition of Hotel Faro’s rooftop “urban art” mural on one of the rooftop’s walls, which was in the works by artists from Studio ONZE during the event. This year, the artistic focus was on local products, with the mural meant to represent the importance of the Algarve’s abundance of oranges. The temporary work of art will remain on display over the coming year.
