December was another improving month for the Algarve tourism sector, with hotel occupancy rates up 11.1% compared to last year, according to data from the region’s hotel and resorts authority AHETA. The number of rooms filled in the Algarve reached 32.3%, mostly thanks to Spanish (+26.5%), Dutch (+24.4%) and German (+18.9%) tourists.
