Hot topics in Portuguese tax

Guests to a seminar organised by the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in the UK were able to learn about the latest changes to Portuguese tax regulations.

The seminar, which took place on September 19 at Vila Vita Parc in Porches, was led by John Duggan of Price Waterhouse Coopers in Lisbon and during the informal presentation he described the current developments in Portuguese tax, including the latest tax amnesty, while also answering questions from members of the audience.

The presentation was followed by a lunch in the award-winning restaurant of the hotel, enabling members and non members of the Chamber to be able to network with new and old contacts.

Christina Hippisley, the general manager of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, said: “We were delighted with the success of this new format, whereby our networking lunches are preceded by a topical presentation allowing our members to meet and network and also learn valuable new commercial information.”

The Portuguese Chamber organises four events a year in the Algarve and a full programme of conferences, exhibitions and events in the UK for Portuguese companies looking to promote themselves in the British market.

The next Algarve event will be the annual Portuguese Chamber Algarve Gala Dinner, on November 4 at Vila Vita Parc and is free to members and their partners.
