A weekend of summerlike weather is forecast for Portugal.
Temperatures are due to reach the high 20ºCs and clear skies are expected throughout most of the country.
The weather will be at its warmest on Saturday throughout most of Portugal, with maximum temperatures due to reach 27ºC in Lisbon and as high as 29ºC in Santarém and Beja before it begins to cool down again on Sunday, according to IPMA forecasts.
The Algarve will be the exception to the rule as temperatures will be warmer on Sunday than on Saturday.
Faro is expecting nearly 30ºC on Sunday, although the temperature drop will hit the region on Monday with maximum temperatures in the Algarvian capital due to decrease to 23ºC.
Next week will see the return of rainfall and possibly thunder to some parts of Portugal, however, as temperatures will also drop several degrees.
