Diário de Notícias reports that hospitals are “cancelling surgeries and consultations to move doctors to A&E departments” after the many incidents where A&E (particularly with regard to gynecology and obstetrics) have been found wanting. Syndicates are not happy and ‘demanding structural measures’. A new meeting will be going ahead on Wednesday (July 13) with doctors already ‘unhappy’ about the measures the PS Socialist government has been taking – not least the fact that the much-promoted new health Statute is not going to be in place before October.
