Hospital revamp

Loulé’s Misericórdia Hospital is due to reopen before the summer, following extensive renovation works costing around 2.6 million euros, according to a spokesman.

Manuel Semeão, a spokesman for Loulé’s Santa Casa da Misericórdia charity, said that the fact the hospital was originally built in the 15th century led to a delay in the completion of its refurbishments into a modern hospital as many features were preserved.

The hospital will include private medical services with consultations and surgery in various specialities as well as a continuing care unit.
