Microsurgeon’s working at Hospital Vila Nova de Gaia/ Espinho successfully reimplanted the hand of a 36-year-old woman on April 12.
The woman’s hand had been cut off at the wrist by accident as she used a meat cutting machine.
The operation took 11 hours and is the 86th reimplantation to have been realised at the hospital.
The medical team involved included the units of plastic surgery, microsurgery and orthopedics.
