Hospital guarantees it was “compatible” with patient safety after 81-year-old leaps from seventh floor window

Yet another case of a hospital guaranteeing that it meets all the requirements of patient safety has followed the news that an 81-year-old man threw himself out of a seventh floor window in Abrantes on Monday morning, killing himself instantly. In a statement, the administration of Abrantes Hospital said: “The level of safety and equipment and physical installation was compatible with the clinical situation of the patient”.

Whatever this means, the conclusion was that the patient had committed suicide.
