A Family Fun Day charity event raised €5,000 in aid of horse welfare association Their Voice Portugal.
Organisers of the event, which was held in Monte da Ribeira, between Loulé and Salir, last weekend, said it surpassed all their expectations.
Sharon Clarke, the president of Their Voice Portugal, gave an emotional speech and said she is now able to complete the winter shelters for the horses in her care and pay for them to have their teeth treated.
The event was organised by ‘The Desperate Horsewives’ group in the Algarve.
