A 43-year-old man was found dead on Sunday (October 26) with a kitchen knife sticking out of his chest yards from his home on Rua Almada Negreiros in Montechoro, Albufeira.
According to news reports, the man went out into the street to answer a phone call in his shorts and flip-flops. His family are certain of foul play, and police are reported to be investigating.
The man, from Gemunde, Maia, is understood to have been living in Albufeira for many years and is believed to have worked as a waiter at a local restaurant.
This latest death follows a long line of murders, stabbings and violence in the area – one of Albufeira’s most notorious danger-spots.
