Homeopathy specialist opens up in the Algarve

FRANCIS HANNON ND, a professional British homeopath with almost 30 years experience, has opened a practise in Aljezur.

“After spending nearly 30 years in England I have decided to expand and share my professional experience here in the Algarve,” he told The Resident.

“I first became interested in alternative ways of healing the body when I developed tuberculosis of the lungs after travelling abroad. I began a journey to heal myself with natural treatments. This was not only a great success but became a personal fascination with the process of healing,” he said.

Francis’ experience led him on a journey of discovery into all methods of natural healing, which eventually focused his main interest on homeopathy.

“I trained with some of the most prominent homoeopaths in the world. This has been my life’s work,” he said.

Francis Hannon treats many different people with serious long term illnesses including arthritic problems, asthma and allergies, eczema, psoriasis and other skin complaints as well as menstrual and menopausal difficulties and persistent headaches.  He also treats other long term illnesses alongside more minor illnesses, such as colds and coughs.

Individual treatment

“The problem with long term conditions is that the drugs which are usually prescribed by doctors mostly relieve the symptoms in order to make it easier for people to live with the problem but rarely cure the underlying condition,” he said.

In order to find which medicine is appropriate, each patient is analysed at a very personal level. A homeopathic examination consists of a long verbal interview as the illness is examined in terms of the patients own experience of that illness.

“Just as no two people look alike, no two illnesses are the same.”

In homeopathy, the medicine chosen will be as individual as the person themselves.
