SOME OF the biggest names in Portuguese jazz are due to perform in the second InJazz – Jazz em Português event, a unique festival for national jazz musicians.
The Mário Laginha trio, Carlos Bica, Hugo Alves and the Matosinhos Jazz Orchestra are among the names that InJazz will take to five cities – Alcobaça, Faro, Torres Novas, Aveiro and Montemor-o-Velho – over the course of the festival, between February and April, in a total of 18 concerts.
The concerts planned for the Algarve will take place at the Teatro Municipal de Faro. The Mário Laginha trio will perform on February 10 and, on the following day, it will be the turn of saxophonist Hugo Alves and his trio. The Matosinhos Jazz Orchestra will perform on February 23 and Carlos Bica will take the stage on February 24.
