European Tour debutant Ricardo Santos was back in the Algarve last weekend.
The 29-year-old competed in the opening event of the PGA Portugal Winter Tour played on the region’s Pestana Golf Resort courses but could only finish fourth to older brother Hugo who recorded a ten-under-par 206 winning score on this occasion.
At the same time the AAUALG Algarve University circuit teed off on the Pestana Gramacho course near Carvoeiro.
The college championship features seven rounds spread over the academic year with the next event taking in Portimao’s Morgado course next Sunday, February 5.
