Ernest Rombout and Erika Waardenburg will be playing music by Donizetti, Rossini, Verdi, Ponchielli, Tessarini, Tedeschi, and Pasculli in the Old Gallery of the Museum in São Brás on Saturday, March 17 at 8.30pm.
Ernest studied as a guest student at the Royal conservatory in The Hague, was then admitted to the class of Porfessor Heinz Holliger in Germany and subsequently studied with Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Maurice Bourgue. In 1985, he became Professor of Oboe at the Conservatory of Utrecht.
Erika Waardeneburg is one of the most prominent harpists in the Netherlands. She studied at the Conservatories of Utrecht and Brussels with Edward Witsenburg and Susanna Mildonian and, at the age of 23, won the prestigious international Gaudeamus Concours for contemporary music and the Vriendenkrans.
