THE HIGHLIGHT of the Casuals’ hockey season took place at the clubhouse last weekend. Teams from Algarve, Porto, Spain, Germany, England and Holland met for a fiercely contested competition. The Resident witnessed excellent quality hockey on Saturday, but, after the night’s partying, there were some headaches on the astro-turf on Sunday morning. The winners of the competition were the “Funksters” (Porto and guests), who carried off the magnum of wine and the trophy. The Casuals team came out second. The hockey juniors team was playing just as hard in the over ‘13s competition at the national stadium, eventually coming out victorious. B.H.
