Quality accommodation for those on a budget is to be catered for at a newly developed hostel in the historical centre of Aljezur.
Developer João Carvalho said that young travellers coming to Portugal, such as those on inter-rail holidays, require cheap accommodation while in the country.
However, cheap need not mean nasty and this is the ethos being adopted in the hostel project.
The new hostel is also being developed with care being taken to preserve the existing façade and original walls of the building which are more than 100 years old. The hostel is due to open later this year.
