Historic festival  returns for third year

Watch history in motion at the upcoming Algarve Historic Festival being held at the Algarve Motor Park between October 20 and 23.

Already more than 250 participants are enrolled and over 320 cars from 1930 to 1990 are expected to take part in 13 different categories with 21 individual races over the three days while there will also be unique opportunities to get up close to some of the cars and drivers taking part this year at the festival.

The Algarve Historic Festival is the fourth largest of its kind to take place in Europe outside of the UK and is a chance for drivers to race in a variety of classes against some of the top drivers in Iberia, especially in the single seat classes.

Organisers are expecting more than 1,200 people in the paddock during the festival with people from 23 different countries coming together for this event which allows car enthusiasts the chance to see some of the best examples from the past in one place.

Models of Porsche, BMW, Jaguar and Datsun will all be taking part as well as examples from Bentley, Aston Martin and Mercedes.

Meanwhile, for the first time this year, the festival has been chosen by the CIAPGPF1 – Grand Prix Drivers Club as the location for its annual meeting and legendary names from the world of motor racing are expected to be present for this including Sir Sterling Moss, Maria Teresa de Filippis, the first female F1 driver, and Richard Attwood and visitors will be able to meet these drivers during an autograph session held on the Sunday.

Tickets for the festival cost from €5.
