The Galicia-Northern Portugal Euroregion has asked the Spanish government to “start procedures” so that the high-speed railway between the cities of Porto and Vigo can be opened in 2030, the date set by the Portuguese government. In a statement sent to the press yesterday, the European grouping of territorial cooperation of the Galicia-Northern Portugal Euroregion (GNP, EGTC) said that the appeal was made by the president of the Galician regional government, Alfonso Rueda, in view of the Iberian Summit to be held “in Viana do Castelo (Portugal), scheduled for this month, but with no date yet set”.
