A crime prevention seminar held in São Brás de Alportel on February 13 proved popular, with more than 80 people attending.
Following the presentation, there was a panel discussion dealing with crime prevention topics such as the Safe Residence Programme (SRP), reporting crime and suspicious activities and crime patterns.
Given the interest shown in the subject, Safe Communities Algarve association, in collaboration with Faro GNR and Faro Câmara, will hold a similar seminar, in English, on March 6 from 4pm to 6pm at the Junta de Freguesia de Santa Bárbara de Nexe (parish council).
Presenters will include Captain Edgar Palma, Commander of GNR Faro, who is overall responsible for policing the area, Eng. Susana Pais from the Civil Protection Authority, Dora Coelho from the Turismo do Algarve, and David Thomas, president of SCA. Faro Mayor Macário Correia will also be attending and will give an introductory speech.
Everyone is welcome to attend the free event. The GNR SRP team will also be present.
