PORTIMÃO PSP officers have seized 1,000 doses of heroin from inside an old fish factory in Mexilhoeira da Carregação in Lagoa. A police spokesman revealed that officers had suspected that a Cape-Verdian man was dealing illegal drugs in the Portimão area and had decided to keep him under surveillance. Undercover officers followed the man and another individual of the same nationality to the old fish factory, known as Fábrica Portugal, and became suspicious that the drugs were hidden in the building. Despite this, they were unable to carry out a search without a warrant as it belonged to the two men. However, when officers discovered that the two individuals no longer had valid Portuguese residências, PSP headquarters immediately granted a search warrant. The spokesperson revealed that 10 officers searched the building with the help of special sniffer dogs and that 1,000 doses of heroin, several gold objects and money were confiscated.
