Herdade dos Grous for the best the Alentejo has to offer

Set upon acres of rural landscape in the heart of Albernoa in Beja, Herdade dos Grous, a country estate owned by Vila Vita Parc (Porches), is open all year round to offer magnificent culinary delights and mouth-watering wines from the ground’s own vineyards, outdoor leisure activities and much more.

Nestled in the beautiful countryside, guests here are served the finest cuisine in a location abundant with views of unspoilt nature composed of olive groves, cork oak forests, vineyards, colourful gardens and a 240-acre lake.

Typical starters served at Herdade dos Grous include presunto, morcela sausage, asparagus, special cheese selections and traditional local produce.

Highlights from the kitchen include dishes such as lamb stew Herdade style, fillet of codfish with coriander and pennyroyal, pan-fried black pork with migas (typical Alentejo dish made from leftover bread) and others.

The rustic-chic restaurant offers seating for 90 guests and is open for lunch and dinner.

In a relaxed, welcoming yet sophisticated ambiance, guests can also experience the award-winning Herdade dos Grous wines.

Options range from white, white reserva, red, Moon Harvested, 23 Barricas and red reserva, all of which are available at reasonable prices from just €3 a glass to €17 a bottle.

A wine shop located at the estate also provides wine tastings and tours all year round.

In addition to the superb gastronomy provided at Herdade dos Grous, a wide selection of leisure activities ensure for a fun-filled visit.

A well thought out entertainment programme offers activities such as horse riding, bike tours, hot air balloon rides, luxury picnics and a variety of other outdoor health and wellbeing experiences.
