• Stand in a doorway or hide under something very sturdy like a table.
• Hide far from objects that could harm you, such as glass or concrete.
• If you must be evacuated from a building, use stairs rather than elevators.
• If you exit a building, be aware of falling objects so protect your head as much as possible.
• If you are driving, make sure you do not stop on bridges, viaducts or underground tunnels. As calmly as possible, find the nearest safe zone, where no objects can fall on you and remain in the car, with the engine turned off until the earthquake is over.
• Above all, try not to panic and ensure you protect yourself.
