Help Animalife help 130 charities

Campaign || Lisbon-based animal association Animalife is hoping to collect 250 tons of animal food during its ‘Banco Solidário Animal’ (BSA) campaign, to take place this weekend at Continente hypermarkets (September 27-28) and between October 11-12 at Continente-Modelo supermarkets.
It’s an ambitious target, but one that Animalife believes it can achieve. It all depends on public support.
If you’re in the Algarve, you can make your donation at the Continente hypermarkets in Portimão, Guia, Loulé and Tavira or at the Continente-Modelo supermarkets in Lagos, Silves, Albufeira, Loulé, Faro and Olhão.
All donations will then be divided amongst over 130 animal associations throughout Portugal.
All in all, 160 establishments are taking part in the event.
Animalife says that its campaigns so far have been a success.
In 2013, a total of 275 tons was donated – 108 tons more than the year before.
And this year, the association has already raised 190 tons of food and 43 tons of litter during a campaign held in May.
Besides food, Animalife will also accept leashes, collars, food bowls, bags of litter and animal hygiene and deworming products. It would also dearly love to hear from would-be volunteers.
