Dear Editor,
I am writing regarding the article “Healthcare in Portugal (part 3)”, written by Mr. Dennis Swing Greene in your issue of October 27.
It needs a correction, as the age group where one is exempted to pay the copayment (Taxa Moderadora) has now been widened and it covers the higher age group, children from birth to the age of 18 inclusive – and not up to the age of 12 as Mr. Greene states.
Thank you.

Editor’s note: Resident contributor Dennis Swing Greene says: “The reader is correct. The age for exemption was extended earlier this year (in May).”
