Health survey

A SURVEY by the World Health Organisation (WHO) has revealed that health care services around the world both within and between countries are “dangerously out of balance”.

Massive inequalities in primary health care services across the globe have created a variation in life expectancy by as much as 40 years depending on where you live.

Margaret Chan, WHO director general, said: “A world that is greatly out of balance in matters of health is neither stable nor secure.”

The report suggests addressing basic health care needs before focusing on highly specialised aspects and centering efforts on preventative medicine.
