People from across the Algarve gathered together recently to celebrate the opening of Bar Havana, Carvoeiro’s only Cuban lounge and style bar. A champagne reception awaited the partygoers and the ‘fiesta’ continued well into the early hours. The official opening of the bar was graciously performed by local business woman and party girl Ann Dace.
Jan Marcus and Mark Knight, Bar Havana’s owners, have worked alongside such celebrities as Elizabeth Taylor, Marti Caine, LaToya Jackson and Calvin Klein. Guests at the event felt this is reflected in the bar’s ambience and adds a touch of Hollywood to the occasion.
An individual approach, an extensive menu of Cuban themed cocktails, wine, champagne, beer, spirits and tapas, along with a vast selection of Latin music all combine at Bar Havana, ensuring every night is party night. Speaking at the launch, Jan and Mark revealed that the year ahead includes charity nights, as well as ladies nights during Euro 2004, with fashion shows and themed evenings.
“The people of the Algarve have extended a very warm and generous welcome to Bar Havana,” said Jan, “and we, in turn, aim to extend our own friendly welcome to all who visit the bar.”
Bar Havana is currently open six nights a week and can be found on Estrada do Farol in Carvoeiro.
