POLICE IN Vila Real de Santo António recently carried out a series of raids on premises storing fishing equipment on Monte Gordo beach, resulting in the seizure of 1,600 doses of hashish.
The location had been under surveillance for some time as several individuals were thought to be carrying out activities linked to drug trafficking in the area.
The operation took place following the issue of search warrants by the Public Ministery and was co-ordinated by the local police in conjunction with Faro’s criminal investigation department.
