Harvest Festival will be celebrated on September 20 at St Luke´s Church in Gorjões, Sta Barbara de Nexe in traditional style.
The church will be decorated, harvest hymns will be sung and offerings that are brought by the congregation will be distributed to Portuguese families in the Eastern district of St Vincent’s Anglican Chaplaincy.
These include widows with large families, single parents and old age pensioners.
The congregation are encouraged to bring basics including cooking oil, tinned fish, pasta, rice, flour and milk. After the service there will be a celebration lunch.
