Magical day expected in Silves
Fans of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts sagas do not have to wait much longer for the seventh Harry Potter Meet, which will be held on Saturday, June 10 at Silves Castle.
After a three-year hiatus, the event will make its highly anticipated return with a wide range of magical experiences to enjoy from 11am to 7pm.
The event, which is organised by the Portuguese Academy of Wizards with the support of Silves Council, will allow visitors to explore several themed areas and participate in everything from games and lectures to classes inspired by the Triwizard Tournament from ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’, the fourth novel in the Harry Potter series.
“In 1994, the powerful Goblet of Fire selected a fourth wizard to enter the Triwizard Tournament, and this time the fourth school is the Portuguese Academy of Wizards and you can be the selected champion,” organisers say.
Visitors will be able to win points for their house, take photos with several other fans and organisers who will be dressed in wizarding attire, and explore a range of souvenirs which will be available for purchase.
As organisers point out, the Harry Potter Meet also allows visitors to forge new friendships.
Tickets for the event can be pre-purchased for €3.50 (children aged 5-10) or €5 for adults or purchased at the entrance for €9.
