Harleys return to Monte Gordo

ONCE AGAIN, Monte Gordo will vibrate with the purr of large motorcycle engines as thousands of Harley Davidson fans descend on the tourist village for the “Harley Fun ‘n’ Sun” rally from May 26 to 29. Following the success of the Harley Davidson European Meeting held in June of last year, which attracted 4,000 Harley devotees, the “Harley Fun ‘n’ Sun” event is scheduled to be held annually at Monte Gordo for the next five years. The product of a joint venture between Vila Real de Santo António Câmara and Harley Davidson Europe, Câmara President António Murta said that the event was an excellent opportunity to promote the tourist destinations of the Sotavento Algarve. This year’s event will take place close to the beach on the outskirts of Monte Gordo and will feature all sorts of Harley Davidson-related events including, custom bike shows, fashion shows, live bands and even the opportunity to ride one of the mythical machines.
