There were smiles all round at the Lar São Vicente in Albufeira recently as Reverend Bob Bates of St. Vincent’s Anglican Church in the Algarve presented Maria Filomena Santos, one of the staff members, a cheque for €373 to allow the home to buy much-needed items, particularly in the summer.
Proceeds were raised by Rev Bates’ parishioners and have been used to purchase flip-flops, bathing suits, towels and extra sheets and pillowcases for all 38 residents. A large amount of clothing and bedding was also donated to the Lar.
