When it comes to birthdays, celebrating your 80th is obviously very special. Although this year has already seen many birthday celebrations and parties for HM Queen Elizabeth II, St. Vincent’s (Church of England) Anglican Church is joining in and helping the Queen of England celebrate her special year.
The programme of events has been carefully thought out so that there is something for everyone. The events commence on August 31 with a golf tournament and BBQ at the Boavista Golf, Lagos. On September 9, Susan and Gerald Hamer are hosting a Jazz Brunch for all, from 1pm until 5pm, at their home in Vale do Lobo with entertainment from The New Orleans Jazz Band, accompanied by guest vocalist Kate Bruntnall and guest keyboard player Bob Pitcher.
Live a little, join in the fun, make new friends and enjoy good food, fine wine, cold beer and great music. Tickets for the Jazz Brunch cost 25 euros per person, with all proceeds going to St. Vincent’s Church. For tickets call 289 394 752 or Helen at The Resident on 282 342 936.
See next week’s edition for more information on other events organised by St. Vincent’s Church to celebrate HM Queen Elizabeth II’s 80th birthday open to all readers of The Resident.
