Happy Birthday Algarve Senior Bikers

Members of the Algarve Senior Bikers (ASB) returned to Bar Bacchus in Porches on June 12 to celebrate the first anniversary of the group.

A buffet lunch was provided and included cakes made in special biker designs to mark the event, followed by a short review of the first year of the ASB given by founder David Shirley.

David thanked everyone who had helped to plan events over the year and also Leif Axelsson, who built and maintains the ASB website.

There are now 80 registered members of the ASB and a survey carried out on the website found that the general running of the group was rated at 5.6 out of a possible 6 by the members.

During the day, the members were also able to watch the Moto GP racing from Silverstone in the UK via a live video link set up for the anniversary party on a television in the bar area.

The next ride with the ASB will be on June 25, with riders starting and returning to São Brás de Alportel and heading out

to Querença.

Bikers taking part are to meet at the Total service station on the São Brás de Alportel bypass at 10am.

Places on the ride need to be reserved before June 20, so please email [email protected]  or call 282 444 061.
