Handling tender

A tender has been launched to find a new company to provide ground handling services at Faro Airport following the end of the service which had been provided by Groundforce until January 1.

The National Institute for Civil Aviation (INAC) launched the tender on May 20, with the company chosen for handling being granted operations at the airport for seven years. Handling services at Faro airport are currently being undertaken by Portway and Servisair.

The competition for the tender came after the European Commission threatened to take Portugal to court if they failed to provide proper airport services at Lisbon, Porto and Faro airports within the next two months.
