THIS SUNDAY (March 26) welcomes the International Handcycling Championship of the Algarve to Quinta do Lago, an event organised by PARASPORT – Associação de Promoção do Desporto Adaptado, an association that specialises in the promotion of adapted sports.
Getting underway at 10am from the car park adjacent to the Casa do Lago restaurant, the race consists of six complete rounds of the resort. Twelve elite disabled athletes from Germany, Holland, Spain, Belgium and Portugal are due to take part in the race, which is being supported by Lusitânia Seguros, Vilar do Golfe, Clube de Ciclismo de Loulé and Oriental Good. Hélder Farrobo from Olhão will be flying the colours for Portugal.
Organisers welcome the general public to watch the event and those interested should congregate at the Casa do Lago car park, which will be the starting and finishing point.
