Hamper of essential foodstuffs increases in price: fish increases €4 in 7 days

DECO Proteste – the Portuguese Association for Consumer Defence – has released this week’s prices for the basket of 63 essential food products, including those with zero IVA. Among the foods that have risen most in price in the last seven days are fresh hake, tomato pulp, cod and liquid yoghurt. On 13 September, the food basket monitored by DECO cost consumers €215.75, up €4.42 s (+2.09%) compared to last week. Compared to the same period in 2022, the Portuguese are paying €28.05 more (+14.94%) for the same 63 products.
