A unique performance of Shakespeare’s classic play Hamlet will be performed by Aperitivo Performance Group at the museum of São Brás de Alportel on Thursday, March 15 at 1.30pm (sold out), Friday March 16 at 1.30pm and 7.30pm, and Saturday at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost €10 (€8 for members and free for children under 12 years old).
They will also perform at the Casa do Povo in Moncarapacho on Sunday, March 18 at 7pm. Tickets cost €7 (members €5 and free for children under 12).
This idiosyncratic version has what no other version of Hamlet has ever had: five Hamlets, three Ophelias (including one male), two cleaning ladies and a cat.
It will include beautiful costume and the usual ghost, graveyard, famous speeches, duels and deaths.
Will the King’s reaction prove him to be the murderer of Hamlet’s father? Will Hamlet finally have enough proof to be revenged on the King?
Will Hamlet finally stop talking and do something? With five Hamlets sharing the role, anything is possible.
