A discussion over religion took a devastating turn in Setúbal in the early hours of this morning after the boss of a local hamburger restaurant “accidentally stabbed” one of his clients in the hand.
Say reports, the man didn’t realise at first what had happened. But when he did (by this time he had left the Chapa Quente, in Praça da Independência), he returned to challenge the owner, who had been joined by his wife and small child.
The injured man apparently threatened to kill the whole family, say reports, at which point the boss “picked up another knife and stabbed the 39-year-old man to death”.
Says TVI, police were called, but by the time they arrived “it wasn’t possible to save the victim”, identified as Brazilian.
The boss, also described as Brazilian, was apprehended outside the restaurant, ‘covered in blood’ and in the words of TVI “in flagrante delicto” (caught red-handed), on the suspicion of murder.
