THE ALGARVE branch of DECO, Portugal’s consumer protection association, received more than 500 consumer complaints in 2006.
Topping the table for complaints was TV Cabo, followed by Centro de Inglês de Faro and The Wall Street Institute. PT, ONI Telecom, EDP, TMN and Clix also featured in the top 10 for the number of complaints received.
The phone calls and letters received by DECO covered various topics, with consumers complaining their rights had been violated, there had been negligence or that they had witnessed an irregular situation.
