Gulbenkian institute “proves immunity of Pfizer vaccine”

A study by the Gulbenkian Institute of Science has revealed that almost all health professionals at the Lisbon West hospital centre (Centro Hospitalar Lisboa Ocidental) developed antibodies “in a expressive form” just three weeks after receiving their second dose of the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine against Covid-19. Of the 1,245 professionals accompanied for the study, 99.8% developed antibodies. Beyond their conclusions Gulbenkian investigators ‘recommended’ that the time-lapse between doses of the vaccine should not be extended beyond the limit defined by the manufacturer (as has been policy in some countries, like the UK). Another aspect not mentioned but relevant is that no-one yet knows how long the immunity conferred by the virus lasts.
