Irish beer brand Guinness is organising several parties to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day (Friday, March 17) in the Algarve, Lisbon and Porto.
The Shack in Almancil has been chosen as the Algarve venue for a “typically Irish party” which will have “all the ingredients” to enjoy the Irish national holiday, said to be celebrated by over 70 million people around the world.
From 6pm onwards, there will be live Irish music, face painting and Saint Patrick’s Day decorations galore. Organisers promise fun surprises and “special deals” on the day.
Guinness will also organise parties at The George Pub, Cheers Irish Pub and O’Gilins Irish Pub in Lisbon and at Ryan’s Irish Pub in Porto.
“Saint Patrick’s Day is one of the most celebrated days in the world and we want to bring the Portuguese people closer to this festivity. As such, nothing better than Guinness, an Irish beer, to promote these events which allow everyone to feel the genuine, energetic spirit of the Irish,” said Francisco Morais, head of the Guinness brand at Sociedade Central de Cervejas e Bebidas (SCC), which distributes the beer in Portugal.
